Ok...so the first doctor visit was as Traumatizing for me as it was for Micah! Yes...after 5 sleepless nights, I finally take him in to get the "gunk" checked out. It's raining, slippery, we finally figure out WHERE the clinic is, then I was told Peds was on the 3rd floor. So after a guy shows me where that is...I go to check in...OH....YOU HAVEN'T registered....You need to do that ON FIRST FLOOR. So...down the steps we go...umbrella, backpack, snotty/sneezing/coughing/redfaced boy with boots & gloves. I think I could hear the ladies at the desk snickering as I walked away. Back down the steps to first floor...the lady there says..."oh, have a seat"....ah...YEAH...as Micah starts down the hallway. I had the insurance cards out for her...then she was asking for our SSNs....Hmmm...haven't memorized Micah's yet. And of course...the immunization card...which is in a super safe place at home. So safe I don't know where it is yet!
Finally we tromp back up the steps to the 3rd floor where we are shortly called into the room. Hmmmm, dinosaurs all over. Nice touch to entertain a 20 monther for a few minutes. The dr. is definitely different than our last dr. All business, checks Micah out, pulls out a bunch of gunk from his ear....Micah wasn't a big fan of THAT...so, it was all over at that point. The dr. says "lungs, ears check out fine...stay the course...it could also be from some more teeth he's cutting. If he's not better by Friday morning bring him back in and we'll recheck." Great?!! So off we go. Making sure I don't do this WRONG again, I stop by the check in/out area to see if there is anything else I need to do. I get the look as if I was from Mars and the comment, "well, no. That's it." Great, thanks...and off we go.
We get home, Micah's in tears because he didn't have a great visit, also in tears because wants to go for a longer car-ride. I'm in tears for the frustration of everything and not getting enough sleep. Not long after we're inside, Micah falls into the window sill and splits his lip. UGH... does it get any better. Now...he's taking a nap...and I'm headed in that direction.
