The Last Service
It was a bit surreal to know today was our last Sunday Service at DeWitt Lutheran Fellowship. Of course we will be with them in the future to visit but it won't be the same. It seemed somewhat typical for our energetic little boy; the only difference was that he was on autopilot and overdue for a nap. I spent most of the time protecting the other boys in the nursery from his rough play. Ugh...I'm envisioning now as I pick him up from some daycare in the future..."your boy doesn't play well with others." Oh how sad. We're hoping this is just a phase that will pass quickly. I think he senses something is up as he's getting a bit more clingy as the boxes pile up in the living room.
Speaking of boxes...must get back to it. The sun is shining to spur me on! Thank you Jesus for Sunshine!!! :)

The New House

Here are our new living arrangements in Fergus Falls. We're looking forward to living in an old farmhouse...Steve most of all. His tractors will fit in well. Micah will have a new place to explore.
We're definitely wishing we could take our current neighbors with us. We are going to miss them. I'm sure we could pack them up and take them with...what's one more box??
Ugh...one more box...I'm praying for the end to draw near from the world of boxes. Will it ever end?? Of course my new resolution for the year is to go through a box a week and sift, sort, purge. It would have probably been a good resolution to start LAST year! Oh well.
As if life wasn't crazy enough...I've done something to my tailbone. Yesterday I found myself at the Drs office then off to the hospital to get x-rays. I'm on some pretty strong Motrin and have tried to avoid the Vicadin. I may end up sleeping through the whole moving event if I take it now!
Thanks for your c0ntinued prayers for all of this...it is a lot to tackle but we know God's in control. It's fun to see my husband excited to finish his Seminary work.
After Christmas
Yes...EVENTFUL would sum up our last few days. Micah unpacks boxes as quickly as we pack them. He has a new passtime...he takes out bottles from the refrigerator and lines them up.He's able to open the fridge himself--which is a big help for HIM.

He definitely keeps us on our toes.

We attempted to have him see Santa earlier this month. He wasn't a big fan of Santa...even though it was his Grandpa Walswick. We did try to snap a quick shot before he had the complete meltdown. He's being held by his cousins in this photo.

He also had no interest in being a little Santa this year either...good thing we did that last year!
We did enjoy a WHITE Christmas. Micah still hasn't gotten the hang of sitting up in the sled. He has a tendency to fall over and get a white-wash. We've tried to remedy the situation by creating his own little seat.
We did have a good Christmas! Steve preached & I chased Micah around. Micah did want to join him in the front of the Sanctuary a couple times but then found the toys in the nursery to be a little more his speed. After Church a friend from church joined us for lunch and we had lots-o-laughs. We will surely miss our good friends in DeWitt.

Merry Christmas...
Well...it's Christmas Eve. At one point Christmas Eve morn included the neighborhood brunch. This morning, Christmas Eve involved sifting, sorting, boxing and taping. You'd think I would have become better at this over the last couple decades. HA! Now with an 18 month old...it's like a 3 ring circus! This morning everytime I would turn around to put another thing in the box, Micah would be there to take it out. It was a bit comical. He's quite the helper. His latest quest is to get in the refrigerator, drag out bottles of chocolate syrup, caramel, strawberry (yes, ice cream toppings!) and cart them all around the house. He moves them from place to place, lines them up and has some sort of conversation. At this point, the syrup has remained in the bottles and if it gives me a few minutes, I'm ok with it.
The last few days have been a whirlwind...but I'll save that for another post. Must get back to boxes as Micah's taking a little siesta!

Where to begin???
My email updates have been few and far between over the past year so I am hoping this will be a good way to keep everyone up to date on our adventures. By setting this up I am probably exercising a new procrastination technique...or maybe a means of therapy...time will tell. Ahhh time... it's quickly flying through the hour-glass. My dear husband informed me last week that we are moving in 3 weeks....ugh!! That 3 weeks has quickly turned to less than 2. I guess I haven't hit panic mode yet...that will probably come when I can see our moving date on the 10 day weather outlook.
Where are we? We are currently in DeWitt, IA. Steve has been the "youth guy" (Associate Pastor of Student Ministries) at DeWitt Lutheran Fellowship. I've been teaching 6th grade Science at Central Middle School. Our 18 month old, Micah, has been getting into whatever he can find! Steve's heart is aching to preach every Sunday. Therefore, we will be moving on Jan. 1 to Fergus Falls, MN (northern MN) so Steve can finish his seminary training at the Lutheran Brethren Seminary. Steve is beyond excited!!! I am trying to get there. I've completely loved my job so to say it's been a tough decision would be an understatement. Please pray for the transition. Moving from place to place used to hold that excitement, that sense of adventure for me, this time I think it is there somewhere...it just hasn't surfaced for me yet. Could it be that I'm trying to finish one job well, pack up a house, care for a toddler, move 600 miles, unpack a house, start a new job, throw in a couple holidays....oh...and currently we're under a blizzard warning?! Hmmmm....yes, I should probably be sleeping!
Enough for a start...I'll try to post some more pictures of the crazy happenings of our life...and keep you up to date. Thanks for the prayers....
